Best Candidates
Dental exams should be scheduled at least once a year starting at about 18 months old. MINT dentistry offers superior dental care to every member of your family and we can help address dental conditions of varying stages with proven techniques and advanced technology. We focus on providing a positive experience for younger patients so it's easier to keep them coming back for a lifetime of good oral hygiene. We also like to help our adult patients who may have had a negative experience at another dental office. We like to help them feel safe and comfortable during their time at MINT dentistry.
What to Expect
You will be given a pair of our swanky MINT sunglasses to wear
during your oral health exam as you relax in one of our luxurious treatment chairs. Your exam will begin with an overall evaluation of your mouth and teeth while you catch up on your favorite shows beneath our flat-screen televisions or jam out with a pair of our Beats headphones. Next, a member of the MINT dentistry team will take digital x-rays of your mouth and screen for abnormal tissue. You can expect an evaluation of your head and neck, including your jaw, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and bite. A MINT dental professional will go over your results and, if any problems are found, your treatment options will be reviewed. We will discuss any health problems you have, including any medications you may be taking and how they might impact your oral health. Finally, your dentist will examine any restorations you have, like dentures or a bridge, to check the fit and wear.Treatment Aftercare
If our team does not identify any dental issues, then the only aftercare necessary would be to continue a regimen of home oral care, which includes brushing and flossing twice a day. You should also continue to schedule bi-annual dental exams and cleanings at MINT dentistry. Most patients will only need a dental exam twice a year, but MINT dentistry may suggest scheduling exams more often for patients with certain oral health problems. If our team does see something that needs to be addressed, treatment options will be discussed and scheduled. For example, if a cavity is found, you will need to schedule an appointment to have it treated with a tooth-colored filling.
The MINT Commitment
Since a dental exam is so important to your oral health, it is typically covered by dental insurance. MINT dentistry will work with your dental insurance company to determine your coverage and any out-of-pocket costs. If you do not have dental insurance, we offer the MINT Discount Plan that features large discounts on most every dental procedure at MINT. An added bonus to visiting for your yearly dental exams is free teeth whitening. At MINT dentistry, we provide complimentary dental trays and whitening gel to every patient at their regularly scheduled exams and cleanings. Nothing makes us happier than helping you achieve your brightest, healthiest smile.
